WAGs-wives and girlfriends of NFL players-form a distinctive and often tight-knit circle. Bound by unspoken rules and invisible social codes, the group can be difficult to break into. Camille Kostek, longtime partner of Rob Gronkowski, just shared how challenging that world can be.

Kostek, an actress and model, was first romantically linked to the former New England Patriots star in 2015. But their connection began earlier, in 2013, when she was a Patriots cheerleader and Gronkowski was in his third year with the team.

The relationship had to remain under wraps due to the NFL’s strict policies prohibiting cheerleaders from dating players. But once the couple went public, Camille was met with a new form of resistance: silent judgment from other WAGs.

Inside Camille’s culture clash with the WAG circle

Speaking on Kristin Cavallari’s TV show Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour, Kostek recalled tensions with some of the Patriots’ wives and girlfriends. “I felt like I was seen as a lesser-than girlfriend because I didn’t have a ring on my finger,” she shared.

She went on to call out the hypocrisy of it all. “But you want to know what’s so interesting about that? The woman that’s coming to mind [who] judged me the most, she’s divorced.”

Although Gronkowski left the Patriots in 2018, the sting of that experience clearly lingers.

Ten years strong, and still going quietly

Now 33, Kostek reflected on the journey she and Gronk have shared. “Rob and I met when I was 21, and we’ve been in each other’s lives for 10 years.” Despite the challenges, she said communication has been the glue holding their relationship together.

Though both have demanding schedules, Camille revealed they touch base weekly to align calendars and make room for shared time. It’s a formula that continues to work-and one that’s helped them build one of the NFL’s most private but enduring relationships.
