After starting the season with a rough loss in the nation’s capital last Sunday against the Washington Commanders, where they failed to score a single touchdown, the Giants headed to AT&T Stadium to face the Cowboys in Week 2. What no one expected was an impressive offensive performance, with Russell Wilson throwing for 450 yards.

However, what was the final result? Just as everyone feared, the Giants fell 40-37 in overtime, after a 46-yard field goal by Brandon Aubrey-who, by the way, proved why he’s the best kicker in the NFL-following a 64-yard kick to tie the game at the end of the fourth quarter.

Wilson’s 450 yards and three touchdowns were impressive numbers, although he threw an interception in overtime that ultimately cost the game. A standout performer, however, was second-year receiver and Giants star Malik Nabers. The LSU product had 9 receptions for 167 yards and two touchdowns, including a highlight-reel 48-yard catch.

Cam Skattebo also shined in the game

Taken by the Giants in the fourth round of last year’s draft, Skattebo played a key role against the Cowboys, showcasing his power and potential. After this performance, he could earn more playing time in upcoming games for New York.

Skattebo rushed 11 times for 45 yards, producing several important plays. His biggest highlight came when Jaxson Dart handed the ball to the Arizona State product, who advanced 24 yards to the Dallas 1-yard line. On the very next play, Skattebo scored his first NFL touchdown.

One of the viral moments from the Giants-Cowboys game was when Skattebo intensely yanked on Russell Wilson’s jersey and shouted at his quarterback, demonstrating their unity and determination amidst intense competition. It was a very positive moment for a team led by Brian Daboll.

With this, Skattebo is expected to play an increasingly important role for the Giants-something they will definitely need as they prepare for their first home game in Sunday Night Football against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
