Cam Newton is one of the biggest names around when it comes to former NFL stars, but he is starting to be best known for the amount of children he is having.

Having now managed to have eight children, Newton has revealed that he is by no means ready to step yet. In fact, he thinks it is down to God rather than him as to how many he will have.

The former MVP and Super Bowl finalist spoke to PEOPLE ahead of the upcoming Super Bowl and he said: “Did I tell you I want more? I don’t know, however much that God gives me.”

Four of Newton’s eight children were had with Kia Proctor. He had one child with LaReina Shaw and one with current partner, Jasmin Brown.

He also has two stepchildren, meaning Christmas can be extremely complicated.

The issue with so many children

He recently appeared on Fox reality show Special Forces and he spoke about how having children with multiple women broke down his intrafamilial bonds.

“We had just moved into a house, and everything was kind of perfect from the outside in. And my relationship with my oldest daughter has suffered,” Newton said.

“All she kept asking was, ‘Yo, why?’… I’m still dealing with that resentment. So if I can heal that, then that’s the start. We have our disconnects, but I just want my children to know that their dad cares.”

A former Navy Seal explained why Newton did not win Special Forces.

“He’s that guy that struggles with it, I’m sure, with taking command from someone else that he may think is lesser than him or is not on his level in general aspect. But he would have got through it for sure, I think, if he would have been able to settle in and just understand this is what we’ve gone through, we’ve all done this,” he said.
