A simple social media “like” is speaking volumes in Indianapolis, as Indiana Fever superstars Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham are publicly backing Colts quarterback Daniel Jones amid his MVP-caliber season.

The mutual admiration between the city’s two biggest teams is reaching a fever pitch. Following the Colts’ dominant 38-24 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, Jones took to Instagram on Tuesday with a stoic, one-word caption: “Onward.”

The post was quickly met with a digital nod of approval from Clark and Cunningham, who both “liked” the message, signaling their support for the quarterback who has led their hometown team to a blistering 6-1 record.

Jones has all of Indianapolis behind him

Jones’s performance is making it easy for the city to rally behind him. In the win against the Chargers, he threw for 288 yards and two touchdowns. On the season, he has already amassed 1,790 passing yards and 10 touchdowns, sparking serious MVP conversations and even surpassing franchise marks set by the legendary Peyton Manning.

This cross-town support isn’t a one-way street. Earlier this month, Colts players showed their appreciation for the Fever’s own incredible season by hosting Clark, Makayla Timpson, and Arie McDonald at their game against the Raiders.

The Fever stars were presented with custom Colts jerseys-a fun gesture, even though it’s no secret Clark is a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan. Jones and the Colts rewarded their presence with a 40-6 blowout victory.

The Colts’ journey is mirroring the Fever’s

The Fever’s support is especially poignant given their own recent journey. They are fresh off an improbable run to the WNBA Semifinals, where they took the champion Las Vegas Aces to five games.

They achieved this despite a hobbled roster, with Cunningham missing time with an ACL injury and Clark being sidelined for a majority of the season with a groin injury, making their grit and success all the more impressive.
