Following a two-game slide, the Indiana Fever got back to winning ways on Tuesday. Facing the Seattle Storm on the road, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell led the way for Indiana, picking up the slack for Caitlin Clark on an off night. Clark struggled mightily, scoring just six points and turning the ball over eight times.
It’s possible she was still mentally distraught from watching one of her best friends, Tyrese Haliburton, tear his Achilles and lose Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Before that game, Clark was extremely excited for the opportunity the Indiana Pacers had; not only for Haliburton, but for the city of Indianapolis as a whole. Clark couldn’t be there in person. In fact, she was flying during the game.
While talking about having to watch the game during a flight, Clark also revealed an interesting nugget about herself: she’s cheap and refuses to pay for Wi-Fi on planes.
Caitlin Clark won’t pay for Wi-Fi on planes
I think we’re gonna be in the air. We fly Delta and sometimes we have the screens on the back of the plane [seat], but sometimes they don’t. I’m hoping for the ones with the screens on the back of the chair so I don’t have to pay for the wi-fi. I’m a little cheap.
Some fans couldn’t help but feel how relatable Clark’s plea was. Delta technically offers free Wi-Fi to SkyMiles Members. Assuming Clark isn’t a member, she would have to pay for it. Regardless, in-air Wi-Fi tends to be very hit-or-miss, so who can really blame her for not wanting to spend on a dodgy product.
Clark makes plenty of money from endorsement deals. She surprised many by passing on the alleged $100,000-plus salary to play with Unrivaled during the offseason, but she’s clearly not overly interested in money. In fact, it seems like she’s stingy with it.
