The New England Patriots handed Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a 28-23 defeat, dropping their record to 6-3.
Despite the 30-year-old quarterback’s 28-for-43 passing for 273 yards and three touchdowns, he couldn’t prevent the loss. However, some good news surprised Drake and his wife.
“Mr. & Mrs. Tampa Bay” honored
In addition to being the Buccaneers’ QB, Baker continues to have a big impact off the field. Together with his wife, Emily Mayfield, they have spearheaded several projects to help those in need.
In 2023, they founded the ‘Baker & Emily Mayfield Foundation‘ to offer and promote programs, scholarships, and opportunities to their community, and for this work, they were honored by Tampa Bay Business and Wealth magazine.
The couple was named “Family Philanthropist of the Year,” an honor they acknowledged in a statement on their foundation’s official Instagram account:
“Being named Family Philanthropist of the Year by @tbbwmag is especially meaningful because you are the reason we do what we do. We’re proud to serve a community defined by strength, generosity, and true Tampa Bay spirit. Thank you for believing in our mission and inspiring us to keep giving back. We are just getting started,” they wrote.
Fans were quick to comment on the post, congratulating them and showing their love and support: “World changers!” wrote one. “Congratulations! This is awesome. You guys are really the best,” commented another follower. “Well deserved! Mr. & Mrs. Tampa Bay!” said another user.
Baker and Emily met in 2017 through a mutual friend and got engaged just six months later. They celebrated their wedding in July 2019 and welcomed their first daughter, Kova Jade Mayfield, in April 2024.
Meanwhile, Tampa Bay remains in first place in the NFC South and is preparing to travel and face Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills next Sunday, November 16, at Highmark Stadium.
