Brooklyn Beckham has reached a breaking point in his long-simmering feud with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, with sources saying the rift escalated beyond repair last week following a “massive breakdown in trust.”
An insider told Page Six that Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, believe they exhausted all private efforts to mend the relationship, including conversations and meetings with David and Victoria, but ultimately concluded they could no longer trust them.
From the couple’s perspective, mounting frustration over what they viewed as false narratives in the media pushed the situation to a point of no return.
The source described the dispute as a “huge power struggle between two powerful families,” adding that Brooklyn and Peltz no longer want to engage and are focused on moving forward with their lives.
Days after the alleged breaking point, Brooklyn, 26, publicly addressed the feud in a lengthy social media statement, saying he no longer wishes to reconcile with his family.
Brooklyn accused his parents of trying to control his life
In his post, Brooklyn accused his parents of controlling media narratives throughout his life and claimed they prioritized public image over authentic relationships.
He alleged that his parents attempted to interfere in his marriage, including claims that Victoria Beckham pulled out of designing Nicola Peltz’s wedding dress shortly before the ceremony and that his parents pressured him to sign away rights to his name prior to the wedding.
He also revived a previous allegation that Victoria disrupted the couple’s first dance at their 2022 wedding, an incident he described as humiliating.
Brooklyn said the couple renewed their vows in August 2025 to reclaim positive memories from their wedding day and asserted that stepping away from his family had eased longstanding anxiety. He rejected claims that his wife controls him, instead saying he felt controlled by his parents for most of his life.
The Beckhams now communicate only through their lawyers
Representatives for David and Victoria Beckham did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Rumors of tension within the Beckham family have circulated since Brooklyn and Peltz married in 2022, intensifying late last year when Brooklyn reportedly blocked several family members on social media.
