Bronny James made his NBA playoff debut during the Lakers vs. Timberwolves game, and all eyes were on LeBron‘s son. His performance wasn’t great, but he drew attention for something very strange and curious.
His performance was fairly unremarkable, as he only saw two minutes of action on the court. Unfortunately for him, the Lakers suffered a tough 117-95 loss.
The Timberwolves dominated the game, hitting 21 three-pointers and shooting 50% from beyond the arc. Anthony Edwards was the star of the game with 22 points.
But it was Bronny James who caught the attention of many pundits. What was so special about him?
Bronny pays tribute to his father, LeBron James
Bronny wore the same color sneakers that his father, LeBron James, wore when he made his NBA debut in 2003. After nearly 22 years, fate brought them together on the same team, weaving a story of passion and legacy on the court.
Following his time at USC, Bronny James was selected by the Lakers in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft. In October, they made history alongside his father, LeBron, as the first father-son duo to share the court in an NBA game.
Although Bronny saw little action in the NBA, averaging 2.3 points in 27 games, he shined in the G League with the South Bay Lakers, showing great improvement and averaging 20.6 points. Those around him have asked for patience, but critics have been harsh on the son of LeBron James.
The Lakers are already thinking about their next game
The Lakers have a lot of work to do if they don’t want to put themselves in an unfavorable position in the series. They can’t afford another loss, the pressure is mounting, and their defense has been criticized for its fragility against the Timberwolves.
The next matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves will take place on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, as part of Game 2 of the first round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs. The game will be played at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The home team will have to prove their worth and make a statement to avoid showing their weaknesses against an opponent looking to surprise them once again.
