Since his assignment to the affiliate following last Friday’s Bulls game, James has showcased a level of play that has sparked a new conversation regarding his role in the Los Angeles rotation.
While the 21-year-old has struggled to crack a crowded Lakers backcourt-averaging just 2.1 points in 7 minutes per game at the NBA level-his development in El Segundo has reached a fever pitch.
In his recent stint with South Bay, James has posted elite shooting splits that signal a major leap in his development:

This surge in efficiency has directly translated to team success. South Bay currently holds an 11-0 record with James in the lineup, a new franchise record.
He recently helped secure that mark in a 125-106 victory over the Iowa Wolves, contributing a balanced stat line of 13 points, two assists, and two blocks.
The growth hasn’t gone unnoticed by his father and teammate, LeBron James. The elder James recently took to social media to share a highlight reel of Bronny’s aggressive rim attacks.
The clip, originally surfaced by dc7visuals, was captioned: “Another efficient night from Bronny. South Bay now 11 straight.”
LeBron continues to manage his own historic campaign, averaging 21.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 7.0 assists, even as he navigates a heavy workload and recent injuries, including a hip contusion and foot arthritis.
Recall to the parent club
The Lakers have officially moved to capitalize on this momentum. Ahead of Saturday night’s high-profile matchup against the Denver Nuggets, the team recalled Bronny James along with Kobe Bufkin and Adou Thiero from El Segundo.
The move provides the Purple and Gold with much-needed depth as they face a formidable Western Conference rival.
