Dallas Cowboys fans might finally be about to see rookie running back Jaydon Blue in action. After weeks of anticipation, head coach Brian Schottenheimer offered an optimistic update on Monday, indicating that the versatile running back is “very close” to being included on the active roster.

Schottenheimer’s optimism

Schottenheimer explained that the main reason Blue had not played was a lack of consistency in practice. However, that picture seems to have changed dramatically.

“He’s practicing very, very well,” Schottenheimer told the media.

This approval from the coaching staff is a positive sign that Blue’s official debut is just around the corner, possibly as early as Week 5, when the Cowboys take on the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium.

Jaydon Blue generates expectations

The running back arrives in the NFL with an impressive resume from his final season with the Texas Longhorns, where he proved to be a major threat, racking up 730 rushing yards with eight touchdowns, plus 368 receiving yards and six more scores.

Now, it only remains to be seen when Schottenheimer and the Dallas staff will decide the right moment to unleash his potential on the professional field and, at the same time, make the thousands of fans who have been waiting for this long-awaited debut happy.
