During his reign as New England Patriots head coach that lasted over two decades, Bill Belichick became known as an extremely stoic person who didn’t divulge information and cut a very serious figure. His dryness rubbed some people the wrong way, but his way of operating certainly worked, leading to six Super Bowl victories.

Given the reserved personality that he has shown in public, it was a shock to many when his relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson went public. The age difference is one thing, but we began seeing Belichick with a more infectious personality and energy. The age gap doesn’t sit right with many people, though. But a moment during a recent interview with CBS has really concerned fans of Belichick.

During the interview, Belichick was asked about his relationship with Hudson. He didn’t seem interested in discussing it, particularly when the interviewer asked how they met. Hudson intervened and told the interviewer that topic was off-limits. In itself, that was a red flag.

Stephen A. Smith doesn’t like what Bill Belichick is becoming with Jordon Hudson

Since then, everyone has unveiled their opinion on the situation as a whole. On First Take, Chris “Mad Dog” Russo initially got shut down on talking about their relationship last week. But that changed this week, as the interview is a hot topic. After Russo gave his two cents, Stephen A. Smith stepped in and gave his short yet strong opinion.

Nobody else needs to say it. I’ll say it. You’re a grown man. If somebody asks you a question and you don’t want to answer it, don’t answer it. You spent 20 years not answering questions you didn’t want to answer. We don’t need somebody else (Hudson) telling us you’re not answering something. That’s all.

Belichick is in uncharted waters at the moment. His personal life has never been in the public eye like it is now. He has never been one to want his life to be like that, so it will be interesting to see how much longer he can handle the constant media attention on his relationship with Hudson.
