Anthony Volpe had plenty to smile about after the New York Yankees eliminated the Red Sox in a 4-0 shutout on Thursday night – and he shared the moment with his girlfriend, Elle Jowett, right on the field at Yankee Stadium.
Following a strong showing in the wild-card series, the 22-year-old shortstop celebrated with Jowett, as the pair posed for photos after the Yankees advanced to the American League Division Series.
They’ll now face the Toronto Blue Jays, a team with serious momentum and the talent to cause problems for any opponent.
While Volpe struggled at times during the regular season, he delivered when it mattered most. He notched a crucial RBI single in Game 3 and came through defensively with a slick play in the sixth inning that helped preserve the Yankees’ lead.
Rookie pitcher Cam Schlittler also starred, striking out 12 batters over eight shutout innings in a dominant performance.
Jowett supports Volpe through playoff push
Jowett, who splits her time between New York and Maine, was seen wearing Yankees-themed outfits during the series, including a white long-sleeve and blue cargo pants in Game 3. She also shared a snap from a suite during Game 2 with a simple but excited caption: “wooooohoooo.”
Their growing public presence follows other appearances this season, including their attendance at the Willow Gala hosted by the Carlos Rodón Foundation. The couple also enjoyed a night out at a Megan Moroney concert in March, just after Opening Day.
Off the field, Jowett has her own projects brewing. She’s working alongside Chase Carter Bellinger, wife of Yankees outfielder Cody Bellinger, on a new baby care brand. The duo recently posted a job opening for a COO on social media.
Now, as Volpe and the Yankees prepare to meet a confident Blue Jays squad in the next round, one thing is certain – Toronto will be eager to spoil the party in the Bronx.
