In just a week’s time, the boxing world will be treated to a truly stunning fight between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua. Boxing fans have been clamoring for Paul to face a real boxer, and it’s setting up as a potential bloodbath if AJ goes full-blast in the ring on December 19. Joshua taking the fight on such short notice shows he sees it as a light tune-up, if that.

Joshua had been holding out hope for a Tyson Fury mega-fight to finally materialize. It never did, as Fury seemed to be waiting for Oleksandr Usyk‘s next move. Now, Joshua and Fury are back on a collision course.

Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight confirmed for 2026

Ring Magazine reported on Friday that a Riyadh Season “mega-event” headlined by Fury and Joshua will take place in 2026. But before they face off, both boxers will feature in tune-up fights. That would put the Fury-Joshua bout later in the year, most likely.

Given that it’s a Riyadh Season event, it should take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Fury’s last three fights came at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, while Joshua fought twice at the same venue before facing Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium last year.

As for a date, it’s still fluid at the moment. Joshua will fight Paul next week, so we can assume he will need at least a month or two before his next bout, if he comes away unscathed. Odds are Fury vs. Joshua will take place late in the year, giving both boxers time for a tune-up fight and a long training camp in the lead-up to the big event.
