Angel Reese‘s stellar performance on the court continues to draw national attention, but her former LSU teammate Alexis Morris isn’t celebrating alongside her. After Reese recorded her first WNBA career triple-double with the Chicago Sky, Morris took to social media to once again criticize her ex-college teammate, this time dragging LeBron James into the mix. The remarks have fueled a resurfacing feud between the two former Tigers, with social media amplifying every word.

On June 11, Reese led the Sky to a 78-66 win over the Connecticut Sun with an impressive stat line: 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists, plus three steals and two blocks in 36 minutes.

But not everyone was applauding. Morris, who played alongside Reese during LSU‘s 2023 NCAA title run, appeared to take a jab at her on social media by posting on X: “@KingJames bro just come out and say it! LeBron is not a fan of mebounds.”

The “mebounds” phrase, coined by Reese herself, has become a viral expression tied to her dominant rebounding ability. Reese even turned it into part of her personal brand and merchandise. But Morris has repeatedly used the term to throw shade, even in moments when Reese shines.

Where it all began

Reese and Morris once shared the same jersey, the same goal, and the same spotlight during their NCAA championship run. However, since going their separate ways, their public relationship has soured, especially on social media. Following her original jab about LeBron allegedly not being a fan of Reese’s style, Morris doubled down when fans called her out.

“lol, mebounds won us a natty. What y’all mad at me for?” Morris wrote, adding, “Congrats idc” and “Stop coming for me. When LeBron clearly implied the same thing, I’m just saying it.”

While it remains unclear if LeBron James truly disapproves of Reese’s rebounding-focused game, the implication made by Morris has fanned the flames. LeBron previously posted a picture with Caitlin Clark and showed visible support for her, which Morris has seemingly interpreted as indirect criticism of Reese, who famously faced off with Clark in the 2023 NCAA title game.

Reese, who has embraced the “mebounds” identity with pride, previously explained that the term wasn’t just about stats-it was branding.

On TikTok, she said, “mebounds is a six-figure brand,” showing how she turned criticism into a monetizable opportunity. Alongside that, she’s leveraged her NIL success into deals with major brands including Reebok, Xfinity, and Wingstop, building a portfolio reportedly worth around $2 million.
