The Unrivaled 3×3 women’s basketball league continued its regular season with an intense showdown between Phantom BC and Rose BC on January 31. Both teams entered the matchup with a 1-3 record, eager to turn their seasons around. While Phantom BC ultimately secured a 75-63 victory, the game’s biggest talking point came from Angel Reese‘s sideline remark about Sabrina Ionescu.

During a timeout, Rose BC head coach Nola Henry was delivering instructions to her team while wearing a microphone. In the middle of her speech, Reese‘s voice was clearly heard in the background saying, “Sabrina can’t f***** guard!”* The moment quickly spread on social media, with X user @fb_playbook posting the clip and captioning it, “We all heard Angel Reese during that timeout right hahaha.”

Ionescu Responds with Dominant Performance

Despite Reese‘s comment, Ionescu delivered a statement performance. The New York Liberty star led Phantom BC with 32 points, shooting 11-18 from the field, including 7-10 from beyond the arc. She also contributed 8 assists and 9 rebounds in just 19 minutes of play, solidifying her impact on both ends of the court.

Adding to the competitive tension, Ionescu reportedly blocked one of Reese‘s shot attempts. Reese, who finished with 13 points and 7 rebounds in 11 minutes, had moments of her own but ultimately saw her team fall short.

With both players being two of the most high-profile stars in women’s basketball, their budding rivalry will be one to watch throughout the Unrivaled season and when they return to their respective WNBA teams later this year.
