It would be tough to argue against Angel Reese‘s first season in the WNBA being a major success. As a rookie coming off of a legendary collegiate career, Reese made the All-Star Game as a rookie and set the single-season record for rebounds. Despite accomplishing so much in so little time, Reese continues to have her fair share of haters.

Many fans aren’t sold on Reese’s overall game, opining that she takes advantage of her own missed shots in order to scoop up rebounds. But if her debut in the new “Unrivaled” basketball league is any indication, Reese is set up for a big improvement in the 2025 season.

Reese ended her first game with a solid 10 point, 14 rebound, 4 assist stat line, marking a great return to the competitive courts. But what stood out to fans in particular was a play where she dribbled to her right, pulled up for a jump shot off the dribble and sunk the basket.

It’s a part of her game that we really haven’t seen much of. She did plenty of ball-handling while at LSU but was mainly a post-only presence in her rookie season.

If Reese can continue honing her offensive craft, that would make her a force to be reckoned with in the WNBA. She’s already one of the league’s elite rebounders, so adding this to her game would be a huge bonus.
