It’s been 3 weeks since Angel Reese has been embroiled in controversy after her sayings about Chicago Sky and practically threatening to leave the team in an interview with Chicago Tribune.

These sayings caused her to be suspended by Chicago in the game against the Las Vegas Aces on September 7 for considering these comments as “detrimental” to the team, entering the court after the first half of the game. However, that was not the only game in which Reese was unable to play.

Angel opens up to his fans

In the article published on September 3, the 23-year-old forward said: “We have to get great players. That’s a non-negotiable for me. I am very vocal about what we need and what I want. I’d like to be here for my career, but if things don’t pan out, obviously, I might have to move in a different direction and do what’s best for me“.

This earned her a team suspension and she was sidelined for the first half of the game against A’ja Wilson and company. However, a back injury prevented her from playing the second half.

This injury also prevented her from playing the last two games of the Sky’s schedule and had already sidelined her several games earlier. It was just on September 3, against Connecticut Sun, the last time Reese took the field.

For this reason, Angel shared a story on her official Instagram account and sent her followers a message about her time away from the courts.

Alongside a photo of her playing in a Sky uniform, the forward wrote: “MISSING HOOPS BUT SEE YOU SOON,” and added a white heart emoji.

Eliminated from playoff contention for the second straight year with a 10-34 record, Angel bitterly closed out her second season in the WNBA and with the Chicago Sky. She averaged 14.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals this year.

Now, although she will play the second season of the Unrivaled League in January, she will have to wait until May for her third year in the league, when the regular season starts.
