“I need somebody make me a Sweet 16 shirt to wear for my brother game thursday! Thank yaaa,” Reece wrote to reveal her special outfit for his upcoming game.
The second-round thriller was capped by a game-winning basket from Maryland freshman Derik Queen, sending the Terrapins through after an intense showdown. The team previously knocked off Grand Canyon in the first round, inching closer to their tournament dreams with every game.
A personal milestone
But amid all the excitement, it was Julian Reese‘s personal milestone that made headlines-and Angel didn’t hold back in celebrating her brother’s achievement.
Julian officially crossed the 1,000-rebound threshold in his Maryland career, joining Len Elmore as the only other player in program history to reach that mark.
Angel responded in her signature confident style, sharing the Terrapins’ announcement with one word: “duhhhhh.” The short but expressive post says everything about her belief in her brother’s talent and trajectory.
Julian’s impact in Maryland’s latest victory was significant. He recorded 15 points, 11 rebounds, and an assist in the close win over Colorado State. In the team’s earlier tournament game against Grand Canyon, he also stood out, contributing 18 points, nine boards, and one assist.
Now in his fourth year at Maryland, Julian Reese has grown into a dominant presence on the court. Through the season, he’s averaged 13.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game-numbers that highlight both his versatility and physicality in the paint.
His development since arriving in 2021 has been steady, and he’s become one of the foundational pieces of the current Maryland roster.
