Angel Reese‘s 2025 season with the Chicago Sky ended without a playoff berth, but the 23-year-old forward is finding a different kind of victory away from the court.

Her first signature shoe with Reebok, the Angel Reese 1, dropped last week and sold out almost immediately, turning her into one of the WNBA‘s latest sneaker success stories.

Released on Thursday in three colorways, “Diamond Dust,” “Mebounds,” and “Receipts Ready”, the sneakers retailed for $120 and were gone within hours. Reese admitted the response brought her to tears. “In full tears” was how she described her emotions when she learned of the sellout.

First look at her own box

Reese had been traveling in South America after the Sky‘s season ended, returning to the United States on Friday.

Only then did she finally get to see her own product in person. Posting on Instagram, she shared a clip of herself opening the metallic gray shoe box for the first time.

The packaging is sleek, stamped with both Reebok‘s logo and her personal branding. Inside, a photo of Reese herself is revealed when the lid is lifted. “BELIEVE IT OR NOT THIS IS MY FIRST TIME SEEING THIS BOX MYSELF IN PERSON & I’M JUST IN AWE. SO PERFECT!” she wrote. She followed that up with another reflection on the milestone: “LOOKING AT MYSELF & SEEING HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE MY SHOE WITH MY NAME ON IT IS CRAZYYYY.”

Turning the page after a tough ending

The timing of the launch offered a bright spot after a frustrating end to the Sky‘s season. Reese‘s campaign closed with controversy around some of her comments on the team, but the shoe release shifted the focus back to her growing profile as both a basketball star and a marketable brand figure. Reebok isn’t stopping with just one wave of sneakers. The company confirmed that three more colorways are scheduled to roll out in the coming months. “Charm City” will drop in October, followed by “King Tiago” and “Giving Grace” in November.
