Angel Reese‘s decision to diversify her basketball career by joining Unrivaled has already proven to be a lucrative one.
Her team, Rose BC, went from being overlooked in the preseason rankings to claiming the championship title-and with that victory came an additional $50,000 bonus for each player on the roster.
Although Reese was sidelined during the playoffs due to a wrist injury, her dominant defensive play throughout the season earned her the Unrivaled Defensive Player of the Year award, cementing her impact on the team’s success.
Naturally, when the championship bonus landed, Reese took to social media to express her excitement, posting: “50K NEED DATTTTT.”
That’s when Indiana Fever guard Sydney Colson decided to poke fun at Reese’s sudden financial boost and playfully reached out.
“Hey angel girl, just wanted to check in and see how ur doing and just let u know I’m here for u if u need anything…esp if u need to get rid of 50k by tomorrow or anything like that…” Colson joked on X.
Reese, however, wasn’t about to give up her hard-earned cash that easily. She quickly clapped back with a humorous but firm response, making it clear that every dollar was accounted for.
“Hey sista. I’m doing well. Just won 50K on a flight. I know you are VERY aware & I’m sorry to break it to you but I’m on a rookie contract & that 50K was a little more than half of my contract so I have to keep that to myself…. Sorry. give me a few years and I gotchu. Be well.”
