Even before she got to the WNBA, Angel Reese had a fair share of haters. Some of it she brought onto herself, with her heated rivalry against Caitlin Clark in college sparking a lot of polarizing emotions among fans. Once she got to the WNBA, it was a different subsection of haters coming out of the woodwork.

Her offensive playstyle has drawn a lot of criticism, but it’s actually been her off-court persona that has brought about the most negative discussion. Reese has been as active as ever off the basketball court, launching a podcast and even making an appearance during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. That makes her an easy target for any media outlet, and it has actually led to fake narratives being created using her name.

Angel Reese has had enough of fake quotes being attributed to her

Reese herself has come out to hit out at fake quotes that have circulated online over the past couple of months. Some of her quotes have been paraphrased. Some have been taken out of context. And others have been completely made up. But in today’s day and age of social media, many online users believe anything they read.

Reese knows they’re just using her name for clicks, engagement and, in turn, revenue. She has plenty of time to combat the war that’s been ignited on social media, now that the WNBA season is over.

For what it’s worth, Reese seems to be itching to get back on to the court. She recently posted on X that “I miss hoops“.
