Chicago Sky star Angel Reese remains sidelined due to a persistent back injury. This has kept her off the court for seven of the last nine games, where the team has only managed one win.

With only 13 games remaining, her return would be a huge help. However, the 23-year-old forward is not missing the opportunity to continue helping Chicago, even if it is off the court.

The two-time All-Star shared her Angel Reese Foundation‘s new campaign, in collaboration with Reebok, with her more than five million followers. Through her stories, the Sky icon shared details about her upcoming “Back to School Party.”

This event will take place on Saturday, August 16, and the forward will give a community talk accompanied by her mother and special guests. Topics such as anti-bullying strategies and mental strength will be addressed, as well as the role of parents in students’ lives.

In addition, during the event, “1,000 students FREE backpacks + supplies to start the school year right“. The event will also feature live music, games, and food trucks.

In her post, Reese invited her fans, asking them to “bring the kids out” and attend the event.

When will Reese return?

Her absence from the team is being felt greatly. Her 14.2 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per game that she averaged this season are still eagerly awaited.

The truth is that there is still no date for her return. Coach Tyler Marsh has included her as a player who will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis, but she has not actively participated in training this week. For now, all we can do is wait.

Meanwhile, the team is preparing to face the Connecticut Sun (5-24) on Wednesday, August 13, at Mohegan Sun Arena.
