Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has shown how close he is to the Mahomes family after sharing a sweet conversation with one of Patrick Mahomes‘ children.
Brittany and Patrick Mahomes welcomed their latest child to the world on January 12, with Golden Raye being born.
The family have received nice messages from all over the Chiefs and NFL world, and Reid was recently seen having a conversation with one of their other children, Sterling.

The clip was shared on X by Yahoo Sports and it showed Reid with the Mahomes‘ first-born. daughter. “Andy Reid excited to see Patrick Mahomes‘ kids after the win,” the post was captioned.
“Hi. Uh-oh. Is that her? Who’s that? Wow,” Reid initially said with a clearly happy tone. “Beautiful sister. What’s your baby sister’s name? What’s her name?” he asked little Sterling. “Ooh! Like your shirt,” he added further. “You’re going to be the best big sister ever,” he acclaimed.
Reid was recently offering parenting advice to the Mahomes‘ which made a lot of fans laugh.
“Once you have three, four and five are easy. That’s what I told him,” Reid had joked with a smile. “You’ve made three, you add a couple more, we’ll talk,” he added further.
Why is the baby called Golden Raye?
While the name Golden holds a special significance in keeping with the Mahomes family’s “metallic” theme – following siblings Sterling and Bronze – the journey to finalizing her name came with some interesting twists.
In an interview with Today.com, Brittany Mahomes shared a surprising suggestion from their 3-year-old daughter, Sterling, who wanted her baby sister to be named after the beloved Disney character Elsa.
“My daughter wants me to name her Elsa,” Brittany revealed, adding that Sterling “was set on it for a while.”
Ultimately, the Mahomes’ decided to take a different route. “Obviously, we’re not doing that!” Brittany laughed.
