Analysts destroy Yankees’ performance: “It’s the dumbest team in the American League”

The recent four-game series between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox was not only a crucial matchup for an American League Wild Card spot, but also a spectacle of contrasts and frustration for the Bronx Bombers. Although the Yankees managed to avoid the sweep by winning the final game, their 3-1 series loss, after a five-game winning streak, has drawn heavy criticism.

MLB analysts such as Michael Felger and Tony Massarotti of “Felger & Mazz” did not hold back in rating the Yankees’ performance, being quite harsh on the team and using terms that did not go unnoticed.

The harsh criticism of the Yankees

Massarotti was particularly harsh, calling them “the dumbest team in the American League”. According to him, the Red Sox only had to pitch out of right field to dominate a New York offense that was ineffective and “completely inept”.

The debate intensified when Massarotti speculated on what would have happened if the roles had been reversed. He claimed that if the Red Sox had lost three of four games at home, the job of their manager, Alex Cora, would have been at stake.

A hard road to success

While the Yankees try to get back on track with a recent win over the Washington Nationals, the Red Sox hold their slight lead in the Wild Card race

Despite the results, what this series has made clear is that the rivalry between these two teams is more alive than ever and that the pressure to secure a place in the postseason is bringing out both the best and the worst in each team.
