Sports radio host Chris Carton of WFAN 660 argued that the speech highlighted a broader leadership gap, suggesting that Judge, while an exceptional player, does not naturally inspire his teammates in the same way other leaders might.
Carton referenced last season’s Yankees slump, a 6-16 stretch between June 13 and July 5 that included two separate six-game losing streaks. Although Judge maintained elite production with seven home runs and 12 RBIs during that stretch, the team struggled to reverse its slide.
