Alexis Ohanian, Reddit co-founder and husband of Serena Williams, has shared his ultimate NBA dream scenario-bringing Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo to the New York Knicks.
Ohanian revealed his fantasy draft pick in response to a question posed by CBS Sports analyst Ashley Nicole Moss, who asked fans on X which current player they would draft to secure a championship. His answer? “Giannis on the Knicks “, a response that instantly sparked debate among basketball fans.
The two-time NBA MVP has cemented himself as one of the most dominant players in the league. Since being selected 15th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft, Antetokounmpo has won an NBA Championship, a Finals MVP award, and made nine All-Star appearances.
According to Forbes, his net worth is estimated at $93.8 million, making him one of the league’s most marketable stars. Beyond basketball, Ohanian and Antetokounmpo share a close friendship. The two have publicly expressed admiration for each other, and their bond extends beyond just sports.
In September 2024, Ohanian participated in a golf event organized by the Charles Antetokounmpo Family Foundation (CAFF), an organization founded by Giannis and his brother Thanasis Antetokounmpo in honor of their late father, Charles.
Giannis expressed his gratitude on X, writing: “Thank you for coming out and supporting my family! 7 years ago today our dad went to heaven and we started CAFF to honor his legacy, I know he’s looking down and he’s proud.”
Ohanian reshared the post, adding his own heartfelt words: “Getting to know Giannis, Thanasis, and their family over the years has been a joy (and inspiring as hell) – he’s the real deal and I’m so happy to be a Day Zero supporter of his foundation, honoring his dad’s great legacy.”
Could Giannis Ever Wear a Knicks Jersey?
While Ohanian’s vision of Antetokounmpo leading the Knicks remains pure speculation, it highlights the high regard he holds for the Greek Freak.
The Knicks have long been searching for a franchise-changing superstar, and adding a player of Giannis’ caliber could instantly elevate them into championship contention.
Interestingly, Antetokounmpo and Ohanian also share business interests. Both are investors in the Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC), a TGL franchise co-owned by Serena and Venus Williams, Ohanian, and their daughters.
Recently, LAGC secured the first playoff spot in the TGL after defeating the New York Golf Club, adding yet another achievement to their growing partnership.
While Knicks fans can only dream of Giannis calling Madison Square Garden home, Ohanian‘s endorsement is a testament to the growing admiration for Antetokounmpo‘s impact both on and off the court.
Whether or not he ever suits up for the Knicks, his legacy as one of the most dominant forces in the NBA is already firmly established.
