Carlos Alcaraz has known exactly when and at what time his first match in the 2025 edition of Wimbledon will be for exactly one year. The Spaniard will open play on the first day on Centre Court at the All England Club as the defending champion. Carlitos has inscribed his name on the trophy in the last two campaigns.
The draw, held on Friday at the centenary club, has decreed that Alcaraz will make his debut against veteran Fabio Fognini, the 130th ranked player in the ATP at 38 years of age and who is giving his last throes as a professional.
The player from El Palmar won both previous meetings between the two, in Rio de Janeiro, in 2022 and 2023.
