Spring training has begun and MLB teams are playing their first warm-up games ahead of the 2025 season. It was the turn of the New York Mets, who faced the Houston Astros, but the singular moment of the afternoon was by a young man in the stands where he could be seen expressing his dissatisfaction with the pitches of the pitcher on duty.

It was in the fourth inning when Danny Young, a New York Mets reliever, took the mound to begin his work. After two men were faced, a young Mets fan caused the funny moment after the microphone of the SportsNet New York (SNY) broadcast picked up the fan giving his honest opinion on one of the New York pitcher’s pitches.

“None of those are good. Those are bad pitches,” the fan was heard saying, and there was a laugh in the SNY broadcast after a short pause after a Young pitch that missed its target and went to the backstop.

The detail did not go unnoticed and social media was awash with comments such as: “Give them a break, kid,” one person jokingly wrote. “I guess he’s heard that yelled at minor league games,” another person wrote on X. “The kid knows he has to make a good pitch,” wrote a third person.

New York Mets began their training games on the right foot

Danny Young pitched one inning and struck out one batter while allowing one run on one hit. The first spring training game was held at Clover Park in Port St. Lucie, Florida with a 6-2 New York Mets victory in front of more than 7,000 fans. Clay Holmes was credited with the win in his debut with the team.

The game also featured Juan Soto’s first home run in a Mets uniform when he hit a ball 426 feet over the left-center field fence

While Spring Training is when players relax before the regular season, the truth is that fans also want to see a good performance from their idols on the field. Major League Baseball has begun its road to the World Series.
