Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs went through the Kaseya Center in Miami without pain or glory, falling 128-107, a score that does not even summarize the enormous superiority that the Florida team had.

The Heat, who led by a maximum of 27 points, dominated the game from the end of the second quarter when in the last nine minutes they scored 20-2 against their rivals. The score, which was 26-39 for the Texans, was transformed into a 46-41 at halftime (26-11 in the second quarter), and from there everything was very easy for Erik Spoelstra’s team.

Victor Wembanyama did what he could to avoid the embarrassment for San Antonio, and finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds on 8-of-18 shooting from the field (3-of-8 from three-point range), but was outplayed by the surprising Kel’el Ware, the Heat rookie, who went for 25 points and eight rebounds off the bench as the MVP of the game. Ware won many plays against Wembanyama and dominated the paint for his team.

In Miami, there was also a great game from Duncan Robinson, 21 points and 5 of 7 in three-pointers, Terry Rozier, 20 points off the bench, and Tyler Herro, 18 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists, who was a thorn in the side for the Texans. Jimmy Butler, 28 minutes, finished with 8 points and 7 assists. His team did not need him.

The Spurs, who were coming off two straight losses (now three) and a thrashing at the hands of the Grizzlies, disappointed in Miami because they were never a competitive opponent against the Heat. Devin Vassell was their leading scorer with 23 points, Stephon Castle helped with 11 and Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes finished with 10 apiece.
