When does 2025 NBA All-Star Voting start?

NBA All-Star Voting for the 2025 game began on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, at 10 a.m. ET. All-star voting will run until Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. ET.

How to vote for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game

Fans were able to vote for the NBA All-Star Game starters on the NBA app or NBA.com.

This year, the NBA is bringing back the new wrinkle called “3-for-1 Days.” On those days, fans had six days when their vote counted three times. The 3-for-1 voting days are below:

What is the format for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game?

This season’s format is a four-team, three-game, one-night tournament, three teams of eight All-Stars apiece and the fourth team being the winner of the Rising Stars challenge for first- and second-year players. The winning team in all games will be the first to score 40 points.

How does NBA All-Star voting work?

Despite the new format, the NBA All-Star voting process will be the same as last year. NBA All-Star Game starters are selected by fans, NBA players and the media. Fan votes make up 50 percent of the vote. All current players and a select group of media representatives will account for 25 percent each. Players and media only submit one ballot.

How are reserves selected?

Reserves are chosen by a vote among head coaches, though head coaches aren’t allowed to vote for their own players. There are seven reserves per conference.

When will the voting results be released?

Fan voting updates were shared on Jan. 2, 9 and 16. TNT will reveal the NBA All-Star Game starters on Thursday, Jan. 23. The reserves will be announced on Thursday, Jan. 30 during TNT NBA Tip-Off.

How will the teams be picked?

TNT analysts Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith will draft teams from the 24-player All-Star pool on Feb. 6. The teams will bear their names — Team Shaq, Team Charles and Team Kenny.

The Rising Stars winner that’ll go to the All-Star tournament will be called Team Candace, for Candace Parker.

Who will coach the 2025 NBA All-Star Game?

The coaching staffs from the teams with the best records in the Eastern and Western Conferences will go to the All-Star Game. (It cannot be the Milwaukee or Minnesota coaching staffs this year, since they coached last year.)

The East and West head coaches will each coach a team in the tournament; one assistant coach from each staff will serve as head coach for the other two teams in the All-Star tournament.

What is the prize money?

There is a prize pool of $1.8 million for the All-Star Game.

Each player on the All-Star champion team gets $125,000, each player on the runner-up team will get $50,000 and the players on the teams eliminated in the semifinals will each get $25,000.

When is the 2025 NBA All-Star Game?

The 2025 NBA All-Star Game will take place on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025. The game tips off at 8 p.m. ET in San Francisco, California.
